Magic of a Wish
The second wish is always the honest one.
The first wish is for show — birthday candle, polite hunger, something the room can clap for.
The second wish is the real one: stay, leave, punish, be chosen, be left alone with your winnings.
Magic is the tax on wanting aloud. Hecate counts the ones you will not admit to the cake.
Power is not the granting. It is discovering what you are willing to trade when no one is performing innocence.
The candle smoke writes the second wish.
