Dual Nature of Pride
Dignity and appetite — same animal.
Pride is lion-shaped — chest inflated, presence announced, dignity and appetite in one hide.
Pomp follows like a parade route. Ego fills the boast until confidence forgets calibration and cuts the room.
Still we want it: pride in self, in place, voice that carries without begging.
Noble pride is strength without theater — roar optional, spine required.
Arrogance is pride without restraint, deceiving you with worth borrowed from volume.
Journey to achieve needs a mirror. Worth should shine as earned weather, not performed thunder.
The lion still roars. You still choose which pride to feed.
