Determinism — the same input producing the same output — is not a property nature hands you. It is a constraint a team chooses to impose, and pays for, because the alternative is a system that cannot be reasoned about after the fact.
Logs that lie. Tests that flake. Bugs that vanish in staging. Every one of these is a tax on non-determinism, charged at the worst possible moment.
Design for determinism even when it costs more. The hours you spend up front buy you back days you would otherwise lose to the haunted house.
