Learn a few te reo Māori or local phrases where you land — effort matters more than fluency. Shop local markets; eat where workers eat; ask permission before photographing people or sacred sites.
Remote work lets you stay long enough to be a regular. That is when culture stops being content and starts being relationship.
Leave places cleaner than you found them. Tip where customary. Close the laptop in shared spaces when locals are trying to live their Tuesday.
